Inactive Diver: A refresher course for those that haven't been diving in at least one year.

Recreational Level Specialty Courses

Advanced Buoyancy: Become a more proficient diver by working on one of the most important aspects of diving.

Boat Diver: Why take this class? You learn more than just how to do a giant stride off the boat.

Computer Diver: The use of a dive computer does not and should not take the place of an understanding of standard dive tables or the use of the tables but it can make keeping track of your dives, temps so much easier. Get the most out of the equipment you own by taking this class.
*Any person that purchases their dive computers from will receive this specialty course for free! The only fees are the $25 to pay for the c-card from SDI/TDI, air fills, and standard dive site entrance fees.

Computer Nitrox Diver: This is the recreational course that allows you to take advantage of all the advantages of diving with Nitrox (air with additional oxygen content to 40%).

CPROX: This is a basic CPR course combined with an O2 administration course. These two medical courses are important for all divers, though being a diver is not required of students. Interested friends and family members are welcome to learn these skills, as well.

CPR 1st: You can sign up and take this class even if you don't dive! It is a combined CPR and first aid class.

Dive Propulsion Vehicle Diver: Try out something just for fun! Cover more distance underwater!

Deep Diver: This is a great class for anyone interested in exploring just a bit more. Teaches the benefits and risks associated with deep diving to a maximum depth of 130' (the suggested sport diver limit).

Drift Diver: No fighting the current! Drift along a reef or use to dive a wall/ledge.

Drysuit: If you get cold easily (even in the summer!) you want to take this course. Be able to dive year-round!

Equipment Specialist: Your scuba gear is your life support system underwater. Learn the proper care and storage of your dive equipment.

Full Face Mask Diver: Take back the ability to breathe through your nose and mouth while diving. Full face masks rarely, if ever, fog and if you are diving in colder water or winter months, minimize your skin exposure underwater.

Marine Ecology Awareness: Divers get to see things up close and in person that most people can only view on a television screen. This course helps you with fish identification, teaches you where you will see different species and to promote awareness of the underwater world. Maximize the enjoyment of a dive!

Night/Limited Visibility Diver: Many divers love the excitement and thrill of night diving. Learn how to dive safely at night using lights and interaction with noctural sea life.

Search and Recovery Diver: Learn the basics of search and recovery: conducting search patterns, use of lift bags, entanglement avoidance and more.

Solo Diver: The experienced diver will learn how to safely dive without a buddy.

UW Navigation: The open water course touches on underwater navigation but this specialty class is very important. Learn how to use your compass, navigate by formations, practice skills and how to read the ocean bottom contours. Always know where you are underwater and on the surface.

UW Photographer: Bring your underwater memories home with you.

UW Videographer: Being able to capture your own digital movies of what you've seen underwater is priceless.
